Achillea millefolium 'Paprika'

Yarrow is a wonderful evergreen perennial plant that forms a charming 1-2' tall mat of soft, feathery, fern-like foliage and spreads by rhizomes. This 'Paprika' cultivar produces tiny, long-lasting flowers in a lovely deep-red hue featuring cheerful yellow centers that bloom in dense, flattened clusters all summer long. These sturdy flower stems typically grow to a height of 1.5-3'. Over time, the initial vibrant flower colors gracefully fade to soft shades of light pink, creamy yellow, and warm brown. The foliage offers a pleasant, mildly spicy fragrance, which also shines when included in dried arrangements, adding a touch of nature's beauty indoors.

Thrives in full sun to dappled shade (in Texas, prefers more sun in northern states) in well-draining soils. Best grown in lean, dry to medium, well-drained sandy loams. Plants do well in average garden soils and tolerate poor soils as long as drainage is good. Plants also tolerate hot, humid summers and drought. Yarrow's flowers stems often are floppy when planted in soils that are too moist and rich, especially in hot climates. Plants may be cut back to basal foliage after bloom. Plants spread aggressively by rhizomes and self-seeding, if left unchecked. Don't be afraid to divide and remove clumps as needed.

Spring Shipping:
Orders are shipped within 7-10 business days. We will email you if there are expected delays.

When you order plants from our nursery, you can expect them to arrive in the best possible condition. Our team carefully packs each order using sturdy, biodegradable packaging materials.

Your plants' appearance may vary depending on the season and their current growth stage. We may cut back the leafy growth of some plants to prepare them for shipment and transplanting.

5 Gallon and Up: Any plant purchased to ship over 5 Gallons will be shipped bare root. This means we will remove the plant from its original pot, remove the soil surrounding the roots, and wrap the roots with a biodegradable plastic bag. This reduces weight and the likelihood of damage during shipping.

Once your plants arrive, it is essential to plant them as soon as possible. This will help them rebound and thrive. If you cannot plant immediately, water regularly and keep the roots off heat-conducting surfaces.

Newly transplanted plants often require more water until their roots are well established. Plan to water them 1-3 times weekly for the first few months.
