Buddleja marrubiifolia

The Woolly Butterfly Bush is an evergreen shrub (in Southern zones of it's native range) that attracts butterflies and grows to about 5 feet high and wide. It has silver, hairy leaves and produces orange, marble-sized blossoms throughout the year, with the heaviest bloom occurring in spring and summer. This shrub is native to the Chihuahuan Desert and can tolerate heat, cold, intense sun, and drought.

Due to its densely branched form, the Woolly Butterfly Bush requires little to no pruning. However, it is important to avoid letting the soil completely dry out and to fertilize 2 to 3 times during the growing season with rose food. Since it is accustomed to a warmer part of Texas, it should be protected from freezing.
