Verbena tenuisecta

Moss verbena is a type of ground cover native to South America. It is well adapted to sunny, hot, and dry environments. This tough plant can be grown on slopes and banks, in rock gardens, containers, and in hanging baskets.

It produces small, colorful flowers grouped in large clusters at the end of thin stems.  Butterflies are drawn to the abundant flowers. When grown in full sun, moss verbena's fern-like leaves stay close to the ground and only grow to one foot when grown in the shade.
