Lonicera albiflora
The white honeysuckle is a lovely deciduous shrub that grows to about 4 feet tall. Still, its elegant, long branches can reach an impressive height of up to 10 feet and are often entwined with other plants, creating a beautiful natural display. The paired leaves are broadly oval, measuring around 2 3/4 inches long and 1 3/4 inches wide, and feature smooth edges that are either rounded or tapered at the base, with a gentle tip that has a tiny point. Notably, the leaves found just below the flowers are fused together at their bases. This delightful plant produces two-lipped white flowers, reaching up to 5/8 inch in length and blooming in charming clusters of 2-3 inches at the ends of the branches. After the flowering period, you can enjoy clusters of vibrant orange-red berries, each about 3/8 inch in diameter, that appear like little jewels. The honeysuckle is beautiful and serves as a wonderful food source for deer, while its berries are a favorite treat for birds.
With its attractive dark green foliage and delightful clusters of white flowers, this shrub makes a wonderful addition to any garden, especially since it doesn’t exhibit the aggressive growth patterns of Japanese honeysuckle. The genus Lonicera honors Adam Lonicer, a passionate German botanist who dedicated his life to studying herbs. He lived between 1528 and 1586 and was well-known for his revised version of Eucharius Rösslin’s herbal, published in 1557. Although he became a professor of Mathematics in 1553 and earned his Doctor of Medicine in 1554, his heart truly lay with herbs and the fascinating world of botany.

Spring Shipping:
Orders are shipped within 7-10 business days. We will email you if there are expected delays.
When you order plants from our nursery, you can expect them to arrive in the best possible condition. Our team carefully packs each order using sturdy, biodegradable packaging materials.
Your plants' appearance may vary depending on the season and their current growth stage. We may cut back the leafy growth of some plants to prepare them for shipment and transplanting.
5 Gallon and Up: Any plant purchased to ship over 5 Gallons will be shipped bare root. This means we will remove the plant from its original pot, remove the soil surrounding the roots, and wrap the roots with a biodegradable plastic bag. This reduces weight and the likelihood of damage during shipping.
Once your plants arrive, it is essential to plant them as soon as possible. This will help them rebound and thrive. If you cannot plant immediately, water regularly and keep the roots off heat-conducting surfaces.
Newly transplanted plants often require more water until their roots are well established. Plan to water them 1-3 times weekly for the first few months.
