Ehretia anacua

The Anacua tree, also known as the Sandpaper Tree or Knockaway, is a subtropical tree in the Borage family. It is a popular ornamental tree in Texas and can thrive in dry areas and as far north as central Texas, though it may die back during cold winters. The tree blooms with white, fragrant flowers in dense clusters from spring through summer, followed by bright, edible orange fruits that ripen from April to June. While it requires much water to get established, it becomes quite drought-tolerant.
