Ruellia brittoniana 'Katie'

The Dwarf Mexican Petunia, also known as Katie Blue, is a compact and cheerful perennial that adds color to any garden. Its deep, bluish-purple trumpet-shaped flowers and glossy dark green foliage make it a beautiful addition from spring to frost. It's great for borders, ground covers, and container gardens.

One of the best things about the Dwarf Mexican Petunia is its long-lasting blooms. These reliable perennials flower for an extended period, serving as a great alternative to traditional border plants like Monkey Grass and Liriope. In milder winter climates, they can even remain evergreen and bloom year-round.

The plants may die back in areas with colder winters, but they can be combined with winter-growing bulbs like Spanish Bluebells for a continuous display of color in the garden. If the plants become too tall or leggy, cut them back to a few inches above the ground, and they will quickly regrow and continue blooming.

Dwarf Mexican Petunias are drought-resistant and can thrive in well-drained and moist areas. While they can tolerate shade, they will produce the best flowers in sunny locations.
