Damianita is a charming low-growing evergreen shrub that typically reaches up to two feet tall. Its dark green leaves, measuring about 3/8 inches long and 1/16 inches wide, are sprinkled with delightful green to black glandular dots that catch the eye when viewed under a 10x hand lens. This plant boasts a lush display of narrow, fragrant leaves that grace nearly every part, except for the tips. The long peduncles hold solitary yellow flowers, each with a golden hue, featuring eight slender ray flowers on delicate stems that bloom about an inch wide.
Although it's technically classified as a shrub, many love to use Damianita like a flower! This plant is remarkably drought-tolerant and typically showcases its vibrant blooms in spring, along with some sporadic flowering fun throughout the summer. As they mature, you might notice their charming twisted and gnarled appearance emerging, adding character to your garden. When planted in groups, they form a stunning, golden yellow carpet, making them an ideal choice for borders in flower beds or as ground cover for sunny hillsides or exposed areas. For a tidy look, light pruning after blooming is a great tip to shape your Damianita. Just remember, it thrives best in well-drained soil.

Spring Shipping:
Orders are shipped within 10-15 business days. We will email you if there are expected delays.
When you order plants from our nursery, you can expect them to arrive in the best possible condition. Our team carefully packs each order using sturdy, biodegradable packaging materials.
Your plants' appearance may vary depending on the season and their current growth stage. We may cut back the leafy growth of some plants to prepare them for shipment and transplanting.
5 Gallon and Up: Any plant purchased to ship over 5 Gallons will be shipped bare root. This means we will remove the plant from its original pot, remove the soil surrounding the roots, and wrap the roots with a biodegradable plastic bag. This reduces weight and the likelihood of damage during shipping.
Once your plants arrive, it is essential to plant them as soon as possible. This will help them rebound and thrive. If you cannot plant immediately, water regularly and keep the roots off heat-conducting surfaces.
Newly transplanted plants often require more water until their roots are well established. Plan to water them 1-3 times weekly for the first few months.

I am planting this near brick pavers, and I am hoping that will raise its hardiness zone for the winter. I hope it takes. I am a sucker for yellow flowers.

5 Damianita plants arrived very quickly following order date and I live in another state. Plants arrived in a secure box professionally packed. By professionally packed, I mean the 5 plants were totally protected during shipping and were placed inside the box with corregated cardboard separating each plant form the others. Each pot was shrink wrapped to keep all the dirt in each pot. The dirt was still moist when the plants were delivered. All 5 plants were in pristine condition upon arrival. Native Gardeners definitely knows what they're doing when it comes to shipping! They take great care of their plants which translates into happy customers! I will definitely be ordering from Native Gardeners in the future!

Nice plants. They grow well here in Albuquerque NM. They need very little water and flower twice a year. They are also heat resistant. One of them was broken during transit and they replaced it immediately free of charge. They offer great service.

It was so convenient to order the plants I needed online and pick them up the next day. I recommend Native Gardener, especially for harder to find native plants.

Plants arrived a little battered, but damianita is super tough, so it rebounded nicely. This is the perfect plant for a hell strip or any hot spot next to a cement.

There's been two frosty nights the past two weeks and these Damianitas (Chrysactinia Mexicana) are still looking bright and pretty in my backyard.
