Itea virginica 'Little Henry,' also known as Dwarf Virginia Sweetspire, is a deciduous shrub with an upright, rounded, broad-spreading shape and arching branches. It produces fragrant, small white flowers in drooping, cylindrical clusters (3-6" long) in late spring to early summer, creating a blanket of blooms. Its oval, dark green leaves (1-4" long) turn various shades of red, orange, and gold in the fall, providing extended fall color with leaves often lingering on the plant until early winter.

This shrub thrives in average to wet, well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade and can also adapt to shade. While it prefers moist, rich soils, it can tolerate various soil conditions. Due to its small size, it's great for mass planting on large slopes, beds, and borders with other perennials and shrubs. It's also well-suited for woodland gardens or as a front border plant.
