Salvia lyrata
Salvia lyrata, often affectionately referred to as Lyreleaf sage, is a wonderfully adaptable ground cover or perennial flower that adds a lovely touch to any garden. This plant not only looks great with its attractive foliage and blooms but also features delightful whorls of two-lipped, lavender-blue flowers that rise gracefully above the leaves, reaching heights of about 1-2 feet. These beautiful flowers bloom from mid to late spring, accompanied by unique, irregularly lobed basal leaves, while the stem leaves are smaller and less numerous. Also known as lyre-leaved sage, this charming member of the mint family is a favorite among bees and butterflies, making it a delightful addition to any pollinator-friendly garden.
The name of the Salvia genus is derived from the Latin word salveo, which means "to save or heal," hinting at the potential medicinal properties of some plants within this group.
This resilient plant thrives in average to medium-wet soils and loves basking in full sun. It enjoys moist, sandy, or clay soils and can handle very light shade, but it really shines in bright sunlight. Plus, it is quite tolerant of heat and humidity! Under ideal growing conditions, Salvia naturally self-seeds and spreads beautifully, allowing it to grow and flourish with ease.

Spring Shipping:
Orders are shipped within 7-10 business days. We will email you if there are expected delays.
When you order plants from our nursery, you can expect them to arrive in the best possible condition. Our team carefully packs each order using sturdy, biodegradable packaging materials.
Your plants' appearance may vary depending on the season and their current growth stage. We may cut back the leafy growth of some plants to prepare them for shipment and transplanting.
5 Gallon and Up: Any plant purchased to ship over 5 Gallons will be shipped bare root. This means we will remove the plant from its original pot, remove the soil surrounding the roots, and wrap the roots with a biodegradable plastic bag. This reduces weight and the likelihood of damage during shipping.
Once your plants arrive, it is essential to plant them as soon as possible. This will help them rebound and thrive. If you cannot plant immediately, water regularly and keep the roots off heat-conducting surfaces.
Newly transplanted plants often require more water until their roots are well established. Plan to water them 1-3 times weekly for the first few months.
