Ericameria laricifolia

The Turpentine Bush is a flowering shrub belonging to the daisy family. It grows in desert scrub and woodland environments. This evergreen and compact shrub is highly valued for its delightful flowers and rich green foliage. Its aromatic needlelike leaves are covered with a sticky resin that gives off a turpentine-like scent.

During the fall season, masses of showy yellow daisy-like flowers are produced at the branch tips, adding to its beauty. After flowering, scruffy-looking tan seed heads appear, which can be pruned off for a more refined appearance. To ensure proper growth, plant the Turpentine Bush in full sun and well-draining soil, while being careful not to overwater it.
