The creosote bush is a lovely evergreen shrub that usually grows to about 3-5 feet, although it can surprise you by reaching heights of up to 10 feet. It features numerous flexible stems that gracefully extend outward from the base, often at charming angles. The slender, irregularly branching stems proudly bear small, rich-green, aromatic leaflets that add a delightful touch to its appearance. These compound leaves are about 1/5-2/5 inch long, with opposite leaflets that are beautifully joined at the base, pointed at the tip, and display a lovely range of dark to yellowish-green hues. Their robust scent and sticky resin make them quite unique. The creosote bush also delights us with small yet plentiful yellow, velvety flowers, which are soon followed by fluffy, white fruit. After rainfall, this bush may even bloom throughout the year, showcasing its resilience and adaptability.
As the most prominent plant species in the hot deserts of North America, the creosote bush fills the air with its enchanting fragrance after rain. It’s fascinating to note that decoctions made from its leaves are used as antiseptics and emetics. Interestingly, many groups of plants are clones, adding to the plant's unique quality. Plus, the foliage serves as a cozy habitat for grasshoppers, praying mantids, and crickets that you can only find on this wonderful plant.

Spring Shipping:
Orders are shipped within 7-10 business days. We will email you if there are expected delays.
When you order plants from our nursery, you can expect them to arrive in the best possible condition. Our team carefully packs each order using sturdy, biodegradable packaging materials.
Your plants' appearance may vary depending on the season and their current growth stage. We may cut back the leafy growth of some plants to prepare them for shipment and transplanting.
5 Gallon and Up: Any plant purchased to ship over 5 Gallons will be shipped bare root. This means we will remove the plant from its original pot, remove the soil surrounding the roots, and wrap the roots with a biodegradable plastic bag. This reduces weight and the likelihood of damage during shipping.
Once your plants arrive, it is essential to plant them as soon as possible. This will help them rebound and thrive. If you cannot plant immediately, water regularly and keep the roots off heat-conducting surfaces.
Newly transplanted plants often require more water until their roots are well established. Plan to water them 1-3 times weekly for the first few months.
