Bignonia capreolata 'Tangerine Beauty'
The Crossvine, also known as Bignonia capreolata, is a resilient woody vine featuring tendrils that cling with the help of adhesive disks. People love its beautiful foliage and vibrant flowers, making it a fantastic choice for quick coverage of structures. This charming plant boasts compound leaves with two dark green leaflets, varying in size from lanceolate to oblong. Its tendrils, equipped with adhesive disks, easily attach to walls. In the fall, you'll be delighted to see the leaves change to a lovely reddish-purple, and in southern regions, it remains evergreen, while colder climates witness the leaves dropping. As early spring rolls in, the plant showcases its fragrant yellow-orange and red trumpet-shaped flowers, often blooming in delightful clusters of 2-5. The seeds mature in late summer, staying on the plant into fall, resembling pod-like structures up to 7 inches long with a beautiful greenish hue.
The Crossvine shares a close relationship with Campsis radicans, commonly known as the trumpet vine. This wonderful plant flourishes in well-drained soils with average to medium moisture, whether basking in full sun or enjoying partial shade. While it can handle full shade, it truly shines with the best flowers in full sun. A little regular pruning after flowering can help keep it looking its best. In USDA Zone 5, while the above-ground stems might die during harsh winters, the roots usually remain sturdy, sprouting fresh new growth in spring. If you have an established plant, keep an eye out for those root suckers; you might want to remove them if they're spreading more than you'd like.

Spring Shipping:
Orders are shipped within 7-10 business days. We will email you if there are expected delays.
When you order plants from our nursery, you can expect them to arrive in the best possible condition. Our team carefully packs each order using sturdy, biodegradable packaging materials.
Your plants' appearance may vary depending on the season and their current growth stage. We may cut back the leafy growth of some plants to prepare them for shipment and transplanting.
5 Gallon and Up: Any plant purchased to ship over 5 Gallons will be shipped bare root. This means we will remove the plant from its original pot, remove the soil surrounding the roots, and wrap the roots with a biodegradable plastic bag. This reduces weight and the likelihood of damage during shipping.
Once your plants arrive, it is essential to plant them as soon as possible. This will help them rebound and thrive. If you cannot plant immediately, water regularly and keep the roots off heat-conducting surfaces.
Newly transplanted plants often require more water until their roots are well established. Plan to water them 1-3 times weekly for the first few months.
