Datura wrightii
Common names include Datura, Jimsonweed, Western Jimsonweed, Thorn-Apple, Angel Trumpet, Sacred Datura
Datura is a lovely branching plant that showcases beautiful, large, white flowers shaped like trumpets that bloom in the morning and the evening, filling the air with a delightful fragrance. While the wilted blooms in the afternoon can seem a bit unappealing, they truly steal the spotlight at dawn and dusk. Interestingly, the Carolina Sphinx Moth is the primary pollinator for Datura, since few other species can access its nectar. Datura is also a host plant for this moth.
However, it’s important to remember that all parts of this plant are highly toxic and should be handled with care. Extracts from Datura and its relatives can be narcotic and potentially dangerous if consumed. The narcotic effects of these plants have been recognized by Indigenous Peoples since time immemorial. Thrives best in well-drained loam, sand, or clay soil.

Spring Shipping:
Orders are shipped within 10-15 business days. We will email you if there are expected delays.
When you order plants from our nursery, you can expect them to arrive in the best possible condition. Our team carefully packs each order using sturdy, biodegradable packaging materials.
Your plants' appearance may vary depending on the season and their current growth stage. We may cut back the leafy growth of some plants to prepare them for shipment and transplanting.
5 Gallon and Up: Any plant purchased to ship over 5 Gallons will be shipped bare root. This means we will remove the plant from its original pot, remove the soil surrounding the roots, and wrap the roots with a biodegradable plastic bag. This reduces weight and the likelihood of damage during shipping.
Once your plants arrive, it is essential to plant them as soon as possible. This will help them rebound and thrive. If you cannot plant immediately, water regularly and keep the roots off heat-conducting surfaces.
Newly transplanted plants often require more water until their roots are well established. Plan to water them 1-3 times weekly for the first few months.

It grew very quickly after an application of a foliar spray with Soil Saviors.
Very healthy plant, looking forward to seeing it flower up.
My datura arrived in good shape and it is adapting well to my garden. Shipping live plants can be tricky but mine looked great from the moment I opened the package.
Datura plants arrived safe and sound and are now planted and dong great.
They packed the plants so perfectly, they arrived in beautiful condition. Will be ordering more from them.
Unfortunately, the order was delayed enroute for two days and the plants were barely alive. They are slowly recovering and I'm happy that it appears both will survive.
Thank you.
Smaller plants than I expected, but they arrived healthy and ready to go.
Arrived well packaged and in good time. No damage to the plants. Would shop here again!
Datura came to me very carefully wrapped for her journey across states. And she made it no problem! After an initial needed TLC, she getting perky and full again. It's clear she has been very well cared for; she has very strong roots and will grow to be a thriving plant.
Love the selection!
