Sphaeralcea angustifolia, also known as copper globemallow or narrow-leaved globemallow, is native to the southwestern United States and northern and central Mexico. It thrives in desert and plateau habitats, and its woolly or felt-like texture characterizes its many erect stems, which can grow up to 6 feet in height. Its gray-green lance-shaped leaves have wavy or slightly lobed edges.

The flowers of Sphaeralcea angustifolia do not bloom regularly from bottom to top of the stem; new blossoms may appear higher or lower on the stem. The cup-shaped flowers have five petals that are 1/2 inch long and typically bloom between June and November.

Butterfly Host Plant: Texas Powdered-Skipper (Systasea pulverulenta); Common Streaky Skipper (Celotes nessus)
