Also known as Huisache, Texas Huisache, Sweet Acacia, Perfume Acacia, Mealy Acacia, Mealy Wattle, Cassie

The Huisache is a multi-trunked tree or shrub that can reach heights of 15 to 20 feet. Its spiny branchlets are adorned with light green ferny leaves, each measuring less than 1/4 inch long. In the spring, it's filled with small, fragrant orange-yellow flowers that gather in globose clusters, each showcasing many prominent stamens. The fruit, a striking reddish-brown to black woody pod, is rounded and tapers at both ends, typically ranging from 1 1/2 to 3 inches long.

Spring Shipping:

Orders are shipped within 10-15 business days. We will email you if there are expected delays.

When you order plants from our nursery, you can expect them to arrive in the best possible condition. Our team carefully packs each order using sturdy, biodegradable packaging materials.

Your plants' appearance may vary depending on the season and their current growth stage. We may cut back the leafy growth of some plants to prepare them for shipment and transplanting.

5 Gallon and Up: Any plant purchased to ship over 5 Gallons will be shipped bare root. This means we will remove the plant from its original pot, remove the soil surrounding the roots, and wrap the roots with a biodegradable plastic bag. This reduces weight and the likelihood of damage during shipping.

Once your plants arrive, it is essential to plant them as soon as possible. This will help them rebound and thrive. If you cannot plant immediately, water regularly and keep the roots off heat-conducting surfaces.

Newly transplanted plants often require more water until their roots are well established. Plan to water them 1-3 times weekly for the first few months.

Customer photo review of Huisache

Had some initial stress which is normal from transport and the August heat. It took several days to plant so it lost foliage. However it is growing some new buds which is an excellent sign that the plant is recovering and establishing well. Can’t wait till next year when it blooms. It’s going to be gorgeous!

Both huisache trees arrived undamaged with nice big roots! Since they weren’t in pots I planted right away I think they already look good! Thank you for growing these at your nursery
