Orbexilum melanocarpum

Mountain pea is a dense-spreading, no-fuss perennial with purple flower clusters during the warm season. It spreads by short rhizomes and forms a dense mat of glossy green foliage. Look here if you want a substitute for Asiatic jasmine in dappled shade. Once established, it can adapt to different soil types and survive on once-weekly summer watering in shade even during drought. It is nearly evergreen in warm winters.
