Salvia sinaloensis
Salvia sinaloensis, also known as Sinaloan Blue Sage, is a charming little herbaceous perennial that grows about 1 foot tall and wide, gradually spreading through branches that root above ground and stolons below. Its small, delightfully aromatic leaves are lance-shaped with gently toothed edges, taking on a lovely purple-bronze hue when they first emerge, and maintaining this enchanting color when basking in bright light. From late spring through fall, you'll enjoy the sight of its small dark blue flowers blooming on upright, hairy, reddish stems adorned with white linear spots on the lower lip. While there’s a hint of violet in the flowers, many enthusiasts celebrate this plant as one of the true blue sages. Even after the flowers fade, the dark calyx remains a striking feature in your garden. For optimal growth, plant it in well-drained soil in full sun to light shade, where it can soak up the brightest light to truly showcase its beautiful foliage and vibrant blooms. That said, it’s also praised for its reliability in shadier spots.
This Salvia loves a little extra attention during the summer with regular watering, but established plants, especially those in the shade, can thrive with less. It’s worth noting that it can be a bit picky in heavy soils that tend to stay wet during winter, so ensuring good drainage and using a raised planter or container is a smart choice.
Originating from the beautiful Mexican state of Sinaloa, where it flourishes in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Occidental, this lovely plant gets its specific name from its native habitat.

Spring Shipping:
Orders are shipped within 7-10 business days. We will email you if there are expected delays.
When you order plants from our nursery, you can expect them to arrive in the best possible condition. Our team carefully packs each order using sturdy, biodegradable packaging materials.
Your plants' appearance may vary depending on the season and their current growth stage. We may cut back the leafy growth of some plants to prepare them for shipment and transplanting.
5 Gallon and Up: Any plant purchased to ship over 5 Gallons will be shipped bare root. This means we will remove the plant from its original pot, remove the soil surrounding the roots, and wrap the roots with a biodegradable plastic bag. This reduces weight and the likelihood of damage during shipping.
Once your plants arrive, it is essential to plant them as soon as possible. This will help them rebound and thrive. If you cannot plant immediately, water regularly and keep the roots off heat-conducting surfaces.
Newly transplanted plants often require more water until their roots are well established. Plan to water them 1-3 times weekly for the first few months.
