Phlox drummondii

Annual phlox, also known as Drummond's Phlox, is a yearly showy plant that usually grows to a height of 6-12 inches but can reach up to 20 inches. Its flowers, which typically have a pale center, come in various colors, including pink, red, white, peach, and lavender. The blooms measure 1 inch and are trumpet-shaped with a short, narrow tube. The leaves of the plant are soft, hairy, and sticky.

If there isn't enough seasonal rainfall, it's important to provide water during the fall, winter, and spring. The plant dies back after producing seeds, so it's recommended to plant it with summer and/or fall-blooming wildflowers. Allowing the phlox to reseed is essential with all annuals to ensure a plentiful display the following year.
