Leucophyllum frutescens 'Compactum'

Cenizo, Purple Sage, Texas Ranger, Texas Barometer Bush, Texas Silverleaf, Texas Sage, Silverleaf

Compact Texas Sage is a shrub that can grow up to 5 feet tall and 5 feet wide. It has a low canopy and can be planted under power lines. This shrub grows mediumly and can live for over 40 years under ideal conditions.

It prefers full sunlight and well-drained soil with dry to average moisture levels. It cannot survive in standing water, but it can tolerate drought conditions, making it a great option for xeriscaping or moisture-conserving landscapes. Compact Texas Sage thrives in poor alkaline soils and urban environments, as it is highly tolerant of pollution.

This shrub is suitable for both outdoor landscapes and containers. It has an upright growth habit and is best used as a 'thriller' in a container, surrounded by smaller plants and those that spill over the edges. It can also be grown alone in a suitable container. However, note that when grown in a container, it may not perform exactly as indicated on the tag. Additionally, outdoor container plants may require more frequent watering than ground planting.
